TM1813 Pengantar Sains Sosial

Membicarakan kepentingan sains sosial dalam era teknologi maklumat dengan matlamat faktor sosial diambilkira dalam pembentukan aktiviti sains dan teknologi, produk dan sistem, Penekanan diberikan kepada sejarah, perkembangan dan kedudukan sains sosial, perbandingan di antara sains sosial dan sains tulen. Untuk mengimbangi pemikiran Barat yang banyak mempengaruhi disiplin sains sosial, perbincangan turut menekankan Sains Sosial dari perspektif Islam. Ini termasuk topik konsep kejadian manusia, masyarakat dan budaya, budaya dan perkembangan personaliti, politik dan kerajaan, manusia dan ekonomi, keadilan sosial, kekeluargaan dan masyarakat, globalisasi, manusia dan alam sekitar, dan hak asasi manusia. Penekanan diberikan kepada kepentingan pengetahuan dalam Sains Sosial dengan harapan perancangan pembangunan, kemajuan dan pemilihan teknologi tidak mengorbankan kesejahteraan sosial.

Discusses the importance of Social Science in the information technology and communication (ICT) era with the aim of taking into consideration the social factors in developing activities, products and system in science and technology. Emphasis is given to the history, the development and status of social science and the differences between social sciences and pure sciences. To balance the Western influence which dominates social science, the Islamic view of social science is discussed. This includes topics on the origin and creation of man, society and culture, the development of personality, politics and government, man and economy, social justice, family and society, globalization, man and environment, and human rights. The importance of social science and its inclusion in the planning, development, and making the appropriate choice of technology without jeopardizing the social being is addressed.
